Carla VanOers

Carla VanOers

I began dancing at the age of three.  My dance training includes tap, Jazz, Lyrical acrobatics and Ballet, although I was most extensively trained in tap and Jazz.  I have completed the AL Gilbert dance syllabus and examinations for both tap and jazz, along with most of the Brian Foley dance syllabus.  I had opportunity to compete for many years at the annual Alberta Dance Festival in Edmonton with various groups, duets, and solos with many awards and winnings.

At the age of fifteen, I began teaching and choreographing dance for younger students at ta small studio in Strathmore.  This same year I attended a weeklong dance workshop in Los Angeles.  In High school I joined the Cheer and Stunt team and competed at the National Cheerleading Competition.  During my grade 12 year I auditioned for and was accepted as a dancer for the opening ceremonies of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games.

From 1988 to 1992, I attended the U of C to complete a degree in Education.  While there, I auditioned for and attended advanced dance classes.  I have been teaching school at the elementary level since then.  During this time I met and married Daram.  We have three beautiful children who also love to dance.
Soon after my oldest daughter began dancing at Danceology, I was given the opportunity to return to dancing myself as a teacher.  Over the past three years at Danceology, I have gained experience with choreography and have won a number of awards.

Throughout my dancing career I have enjoyed and benefited from a large variety of dance workshops, including an International Dance Teachers’ Convention in Boston in 2007, all which continue to help me grow and learn as a dance teacher.

Cally Strandquist

Hi I am Cally, I have been dancing for 11 years so far and hope to continue for the rest of my life.  I train 12 hours a week, including dancing at the studio and high school.  I do almost every type of dance that’s offered at the studio.  I have danced in the Opening Ceremonies of the Alberta Summer Games, and have also danced in a number of plays.  I have lots of experience working with children star teaming for many years.  I go to as many dance workshops and camps as I possibly can so I will always have fresh ideas.
Dance is a major part of my life: It’s shat I want to do forever!   Teaching has been a dream that has finally come true.  Ever Since I was little I would look up to the “Big Girls” and want to be “Just like them”.  I can’t imagine myself not dancing; I’m very excited about getting to share my love of dance with others.  Dreaming and Always thinking of dance is just what I do and it will be that way forever.  I LOVE DANCE.

Sheila Cutts

Hi I am Miss Sheila and have moved to this fast growing, friendly town of Stettler 3 ½ years ago and am delighted to have made the move.  My family and I had previously lived in the small town of Chauvin, where I was born and raised.  In past years, I have worked at banks, engineering companies and so on.  Just before we moved to Stettler, I was with Talisman Energy running their office.  During the time in between I have raised three children, staying at home with them in their younger years.  I was on the town council for 4 years, president of the community library for 3 on FCSS board for 3years, and on my perish council for so many years I have lost count.  When my children were younger, the teachers decided that they did not have time for a Christmas concert…No way I thought, so for the next three years, I added that to my list of tasks.  I took a chance on applying to Rhonda and low and behold she took me on, I have enjoyed every moment since then being with the students and parents at the studio.

My children have all but grown.

Sheila Cutts
I enjoy seeing the joy that dancing brings to the children of all ages and the area is blessed to have the opportunity to offer this gift to their children.  MAY YOU HAVE FUN EACH DAY AND DANCE ON!
